What's New in the Standard Edition of Windows Server 2022

Security
By integrating current security capabilities across many domains, Windows Server 2022 Standard delivers defense-in-depth protection against advanced threats. Additionally, the advanced multi-layer security in the Standard edition of Windows Server 2022 offers the needed protection for Servers.
Hyper-V Improvements
The improved Receive Segment Coalescing (RSC) in Hyper-V has updated virtual switches. Subsequently, packets can be combined and processed as one large segment by the hypervisor network. CPU cycle usage is reduced and segments remain consolidated along the data path until they are finally processed by the designed application. Thus, better performance for network traffic from an external host received by a virtual NIC, as well as for network traffic from one virtual NIC to another virtual NIC on the same host.
Storage replica
Storage Replica is Windows Server technology that enables replication of the content of volumes between servers or clusters in case of a disaster.It also allows for the construction of extended failover clusters that span two locations while keeping data synced between them. With Windows Server 2022 Standard, the Storage Replica feature is available (1 partnership and 1 resource group with a single 2TB volume), however the Storage Spaces Direct feature is not included.
